No single, neutral list of the ten most visited AI websites exists, but one published measurement comes close: Cloudflare's Radar 2025 Year in Review, released December 15, 2025, which ranked generative AI services by anonymized lookups on its 1.1.1.1 public DNS resolver. ChatGPT/OpenAI finished first, followed by Claude/Anthropic and Perplexity. It is still the latest annual edition as of October 2026, and the method estimates popularity from one resolver's users, so it does not count visitors.
Key takeaways
- Cloudflare's 2025 ranking covers January 1 to December 2, 2025, and the generative AI category uses an 11-month year-to-date period.
- The 2025 top 10, in order: ChatGPT/OpenAI, Claude/Anthropic, Perplexity, Google Gemini, Character AI, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf AI, QuillBot, Grok/xAI, DeepSeek.
- New in the 2025 top 10 were Google Gemini, Windsurf AI, Grok/xAI, and DeepSeek.
- Radar defines popularity as the estimated number of unique users reaching a domain over a period.
- Automated AI crawlers made up 4.2 percent of HTML requests across the year, against 47 percent for human traffic at the end of the period.
What the 2025 ranking says
The year-in-review post, written by David Belson, ranks internet services overall and in nine categories, one of them generative AI. Its main text is short: ChatGPT/OpenAI "remained at the top of the list," while Perplexity, Claude/Anthropic, and GitHub Copilot moved up. Google Gemini, Windsurf AI, Grok/xAI, and DeepSeek were new entries in the top 10 for 2025.
The full order sits in a companion post on the top Internet services of 2025. It also notes that Gemini held the number two position on most days from mid-September onward but finished the year at number four in the weighted ranking, and that Claude reached number two on most weekdays in July and August. Cloudflare adds that a lower rank does not imply lower traffic, only that other services may have grown faster.

| 2 | Claude/Anthropic |
| 3 | Perplexity |
| 4 | Google Gemini |
| 5 | Character AI |
| 6 | GitHub Copilot |
| 7 | Windsurf AI |
| 8 | QuillBot |
| 9 | Grok/xAI |
| 10 | DeepSeek |
How the numbers are produced
Cloudflare states that category rankings come from anonymized query data of traffic to its 1.1.1.1 public DNS resolver, from millions of users worldwide. Domains that belong to one service are grouped, so a chatbot's several addresses count as one entry. The Radar glossary defines the popularity metric as the estimated number of unique users that access a domain over some period.
Three limits follow from that description. The sample is people who chose this resolver, which may differ from all internet users. A DNS lookup shows that a device asked for an address, which is not the same as a person spending time on the site. And the unit is a service, not a page, so a coding assistant and a chatbot sit on the same scale although they are used very differently. Cloudflare does not claim otherwise; these cautions are a reading of the method as described.
The 2026 picture: daily rankings, no new annual edition yet
The 2025 review is a yearly snapshot. Since February 2025, Radar's AI Insights page has also shown a generative AI services popularity graph that is aggregated daily, with the series available through the Radar API. So the position of any service on a given day in 2026 can differ from the 2025 order, and this page does not reproduce 2026 daily positions. Cloudflare published the 2025 review in mid-December, and a review covering 2026 would be the next annual edition; none had been published when this page was checked in October 2026.
A second view: who visits AI services, and who crawls them
The same review also measures automated traffic. Across the period, AI bots averaged 4.2 percent of HTML requests, slightly below Googlebot at 4.5 percent. Human traffic was 47 percent of HTML requests on December 2, and bots that are not AI crawlers were 44 percent. AI bot share ranged from 2.4 percent in early April to 6.4 percent in late June.
Cloudflare also reported crawl-to-referral ratios, meaning how many pages a company's crawler fetched for each visitor it sent back to a site. Anthropic's ratio reached as high as 500,000 to 1, OpenAI's peaked near 3,700 to 1 in March, and Perplexity's fell from above 700 to 1 in late March to below 200 to 1 from September. For publishers, those ratios say more about the flow of traffic than a popularity list does.
What each kind of "top AI website" list actually measures
| Type of list | What it counts | What it misses |
|---|---|---|
| DNS-based ranking (Cloudflare Radar) | Estimated unique users of a service via one resolver | Time spent, mobile apps with their own addresses, users of other resolvers |
| Editorial roundup | The author's selection | Any stated method, and often a date |
| App store charts | Downloads or ratings in one store | Web use and other countries |
| Crawler statistics | Automated requests to sites | Human audiences |
FAQ
Is ChatGPT the most visited AI website?
In Cloudflare's 2025 generative AI category it ranked first by estimated users on 1.1.1.1. That is one dataset with a stated method, and other measurements may differ.
Where can the full 2025 top 10 be read?
The table above gives the order, taken from Cloudflare's companion post on the top Internet services of 2025. The main year-in-review post shows it in a chart titled "Top Generative AI services in 2025, worldwide."
Does a high rank mean a service is trustworthy?
No. The ranking measures popularity and says nothing about accuracy, privacy practices, or fitness for a task.
Will the list change?
Probably each year, and day to day in the live Radar view. Gemini, Windsurf AI, Grok/xAI, and DeepSeek entered the top 10 in 2025, which shows how quickly positions move.
